You’re Invited to Back to Church Sunday!

“Back to Church Sunday,” part of a national movement of churches across America, will be held at The Rock Church of South Jersey in Mount Laurel at 11 AM September 18. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Since it started as a call to action and invitation for the church in 2009, the National Back to Church Sunday movement marks its thirteenth year and continues to gain momentum. More than 5 million Christ followers have participated through 40,000 churches! It is a day focused on uniting the church to equip and empower members to be inviters. Eight out of ten people say they are open to visiting church if invited—they are just waiting for an invitation. Consider this your invitation!

What to Expect

Arriving At The Rock Church

When you arrive at The Rock Church for church, volunteers will help direct you to park. When you enter the building, you’ll be in the sanctuary. If you have kids, you’ll find the Kids Check-In station in the hallway. For this service, we will have childcare for ages 0-10. There are two single bathrooms – one in the rear of the sanctuary and one in the hall. Once you enter the sanctuary, feel free to sit wherever you’d like.

The service will last about 60 minutes.

It will begin with about 20 minutes of music from our live band. The words of the songs will be projected onto a large screen. Many people will sing along, but feel free to participate as you feel comfortable. Pastor Ben will then share a message from the Bible. There is a box in the back for anyone that would like to give an offering of financial gifts. This offering is for those who call The Rock Church their home. As our guest, you’re not expected to give any money. That decision is totally up to you. We’ve been blessed with many opportunities to serve the needs of our community, and through the generosity of the church, we can meet those needs.

What about My Kids?

Your children are welcome to join you in the service. However, we will also offer childcare for ages 0-10 only during the service. Simply follow signs to Kids Check-In. When you check-in, you’ll be asked to fill out some information so we can have a way to contact you in the unlikely event you are needed during the service.

Why Come to Church?

After two years of isolation and strife in our communities, people are ready to come together and find authentic community and hope for a better world. This is the perfect time to rejoin, or to try, a local church to find restoration, purpose and hope.

We believe that there has never been a better time than now for people to come back and get plugged in to a church that offers friendships, opportunities to serve the community, and the chance to grow spiritually through a journey of personal faith.

But the good news is that God had a plan!

He would send his own son into the world as a beacon of hope. Jesus is God’s Son, sent into the world to pave a path so that every single person on earth may experience new life. Jesus took all the brokenness of the world unto himself when he died on a cross. But death was not the end of the story.

Death and brokenness could not contain Jesus. He rose from the dead and now offers new life to all those who would believe in Him. This is what we celebrate at church on Sundays. If you’re looking to learn more about church, or are hoping to find more than religion, we believe you’ll find what you’re looking for at our church service. It won’t be the same without you!
